Upgrading Legacy Cameras

Older versions of LEGION Simulator had Cameras, but they don’t have a visible, adjustable boundary. There was also no specific “Whole Model” Camera; it was simply implied by not selecting a user-defined Camera.

Camera shapes were based on the aspect ratio of the model (i.e., its X and Y dimensions as defined in LEGION Model Builder).

When loading a legacy LEGION Simulator project, any Cameras therein will be upgraded automatically:

  • Each Camera will gain a visible, adjustable boundary matching that Camera’s original shape.
Note: This is one of the only times LEGION Simulator will create a Camera that does not use the default Camera aspect ratio.
  • Camera transition mode will be removed. Transitions are now handled by the Timeline Events which activate Cameras.
Note: You’ll need to manually restore required transition modes in the Timeline’s Camera Events.

LEGION Simulator will also add a real “Whole Model” Camera. Again, its shape will be based on the model’s aspect ratio:

  • Any Timeline Events using an implied “Whole Model” Camera will now explicitly use the real one.
